Maruti Suzuki's 2026 Brezza facelift has been caught in production-ready trim during what appears to be a TV commercial shoot, signalling that the segment's bestseller is days away from launch. The sighting follows months of camouflaged test mule activity and confirms styling changes already glimpsed in earlier undisguised images.

The 2026 Brezza facelift has been spotted in production-ready guise on what looks like a TVC shoot location, with no camouflage left on the car. This is the clearest sign yet that Maruti Suzuki is in the final stages before showroom launch, following multiple test mule sightings on public roads over the past few months.

A 6-speed manual and a less chrome-heavy face are exactly the two updates the Brezza needed; the rest is Maruti protecting a bestseller.

The front fascia has been comprehensively reworked. The new grille is wider and gets a thicker chrome bar running across the centre, lending the SUV a more upmarket face than the outgoing car. The bumper is new too, with vertically stacked fog lamp housings flanking a larger silver skid plate, giving the Brezza a more upright, rugged stance. Earlier undisguised images had already telegraphed these changes, but the production-spec sighting confirms Maruti has retained the design intent without watering it down for cost.

The bigger mechanical news is under the skin. Spy shots of earlier test mules revealed a new 6-speed manual gearbox, which would replace the long-serving 5-speed unit on the 1.5-litre K15C petrol. The mild-hybrid and CNG powertrains are expected to carry over, with the AMT and torque converter automatic likely continuing on the petrol. Feature additions are expected on the inside, though Maruti has not yet shared an official equipment list. Pricing will be the decisive factor against the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.

The Car Jury verdict

The Brezza has been the safe default in the compact SUV segment for a decade, and this facelift looks like a careful nip-and-tuck rather than a reinvention. A wider chrome grille, redesigned bumper and a long-overdue 6-speed manual address the two complaints buyers actually had: the cabin felt dated next to the Nexon and Sonet, and the 5-speed box ran out of legs on the highway. Faisal Khan of FasBeam notes the facelift has been executed well, pointing out the cleaner front in place of the old chrome-heavy face. Motor Inc calls the Brezza the more relaxed car in its segment, which is exactly the brief Maruti is protecting here.

Our stance on the Brezza remains WAIT until launch pricing and the feature list are official. The Tata Sierra is the more interesting buy right now.
