Hyundai Sales July 2026: Creta And Venue Drag The Brand Back To 54,000 Units

Hyundai Motor India retailed 54,210 units in July 2026, up 23.28% year-on-year against 43,973 units in July 2025, and up 36.77% over June's 39,635. Creta (including the EV) and Venue accounted for the bulk of the recovery, while the Exter, i20, Aura, Grand i10, Alcazar and Verna filled in the gaps.
What was announced
Hyundai Motor India retailed 54,210 units in July 2026, a 23.28% year-on-year jump over the 43,973 units sold in July 2025. Month-on-month, dispatches climbed 36.77% from 39,635 units in June 2026. The company attributed the sharp MoM recovery to improved availability of key models and stronger demand across its SUV and hatchback ranges.
Hyundai's July recovery is a Creta and Venue story; the rest of the range is quietly turning into background noise.
The Creta, including the electric version, remained Hyundai's single largest contributor with 18,088 units. That is a 7.04% YoY gain over 16,898 units in July 2025, and a striking 152.34% jump over June 2026 as production and dispatches normalised. Creta alone accounted for 33.37% of Hyundai's monthly volume, underlining how much the mid-size SUV props up the wider portfolio.
The Venue was the second best-selling Hyundai in July with 11,095 units, up 37.76% YoY from 8,054 units and up 2.96% MoM from 10,776 units. The rest of the range, Exter, i20, Aura, Grand i10 Nios, Alcazar and Verna, made up the balance of roughly 25,000 units between them, keeping Hyundai's dependence on its top two SUVs starkly visible in the July mix.
The Car Jury verdict
The July numbers flatter Hyundai. Strip out Creta and Venue and you have a brand leaning on two nameplates while the Verna, Alcazar and i20 barely register. Faisal Khan of FasBeam put the structural problem bluntly, noting that Hyundai and Honda entered India at the same time and the gap between them today shows something went wrong; Hyundai is not immune to that drift, it is just further along the curve.
Team-BHP's own coverage of the Elantra era, recalling a time when Hyundai offered a lower entry price and more engine and transmission choices, underlines how narrow the current lineup has become. The Creta Electric and Venue are genuine buys; the petrol Creta is a wait with the facelift due. Two hits do not make a portfolio.
