Tata's May 2026 Numbers: Sierra Lands At No. 3, Punch And Nexon Carry The Roof
Tata Motors dispatched 59,090 passenger vehicles in May 2026, a 42.19% year-on-year jump from 41,557 units in May 2025. Punch and Nexon held the top two spots, and the newly launched Sierra arrived as the third best-selling Tata of the month with 6,606 units.

Tata Motors reported total passenger vehicle dispatches of 59,090 units in May 2026, up 42.19% from 41,557 units in May 2025. Growth was led by the Punch and Nexon, with the newly launched Sierra entering the top three in only its launch phase. Together, the top three models accounted for roughly 77% of Tata's monthly PV volume.
Punch and Nexon still do two-thirds of Tata's volume; Sierra's 6,606-unit debut is a launch bump, not yet a run-rate.

The Car Jury verdict
The headline is Sierra, but the real story is concentration risk. Punch and Nexon together still do two-thirds of Tata's volume, and Sierra's 6,606-unit debut is a launch-month bump, not yet a settled run-rate. Faisal Khan of FasBeam pegs the Sierra range at "13.58 lakhs on road Mumbai," which is Creta-Seltos money; Rachit Hirani of MotorOctane is blunt that he would not even count the non-turbo Sierra against a Seltos. That matters because the 1.5 NA petrol Gagan Choudhary drove is the cheapest way into the badge, and it is the variant most likely to disappoint walk-ins.
