Ferrari Amalfi Spider lands in India at Rs 4.6 crore, four months after global debut
Ferrari India has opened order books for the Amalfi Spider at Rs 4.6 crore before options, arriving just four months after the drop-top's global reveal in March 2026. It slots above the Amalfi coupe, which retails at Rs 4.08 crore, commanding a Rs 52 lakh premium for the folding fabric roof.
What was announced
The Amalfi Spider is the convertible derivative of Ferrari's Amalfi grand tourer, which itself replaced the Roma. Deliveries in India begin against a Rs 4.6 crore ex-showroom sticker before options, and Ferrari's options list can easily add another 50-70 lakh depending on paint, interior trim and carbon-fibre packages. The coupe currently sits at Rs 4.08 crore.
Four months from Maranello to Mumbai is unusually quick, and it signals Ferrari India is finally treating this market as a launch priority.
Powertrain is carried over unchanged from the coupe: a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 640hp and 760Nm, driving the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. Despite carrying 86kg of extra weight for the folding roof mechanism and reinforcement, Ferrari claims a 0-100kph time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 320kph, essentially identical to the fixed-roof car.
The retractable hard-top of the Portofino era has been replaced by a folding fabric roof, which Ferrari says stows in 13.5 seconds and can be operated at speeds of up to 60kph, useful for Indian traffic where you rarely stop cleanly at a signal. Visually, the Spider is near-indistinguishable from the coupe with the roof up, sharing the same clean, stripped-back front-mid-engined GT silhouette that Ferrari's design office has leaned into since the Roma. Cabin layout, dual-cockpit dashboard and infotainment carry over unchanged.
The Car Jury verdict
Ferrari's India timing here is the story. Four months from Maranello to Mumbai showrooms is unusually quick for a fresh convertible, and it signals that the Prancing Horse's India team is now treating this market as a genuine launch priority rather than an afterthought. The Rs 52 lakh premium over the coupe is steep but consistent with global Ferrari Spider pricing logic, and buyers in this bracket rarely blink at it.
The bigger question is whether the Amalfi Spider does enough to justify itself over the outgoing Portofino M, which built a loyal Indian following as the everyday Ferrari. On paper, 640hp, a 3.3 second sprint and a roof that drops at 60kph say yes. If you were already on the Amalfi coupe waitlist and drive in a city where the roof matters, the Rs 52 lakh delta is worth writing the cheque for.
