What was announced

Hyundai Motor India sold 75,360 vehicles in July 2026 across domestic and export markets combined, a 25.45% year-on-year increase over the 60,073 units it moved in July 2025. This is the first time the company has crossed the 75,000-unit mark in a single month.

The 23% year-on-year gain is the real signal here; the 37% jump over June is just a bounce off a production-hit month.

Domestic dispatches stood at 54,210 units versus 43,973 units in July 2025, a gain of 10,237 units or 23.28% year-on-year. Hyundai has called this out as its highest-ever July for the Indian market. The month-on-month comparison is even sharper: June 2026 volumes were 39,635 units, meaning July jumped by 14,575 units or 36.77%. Hyundai has attributed the weak June base to a production constraint during the month, so the MoM figure reads bigger than the underlying demand shift.

Exports were the other lever. The company recorded its highest export volumes in more than eight years, though the exact export unit split within the 75,360 total has not been broken out in the release. The Creta continues to anchor domestic volumes, with the Venue, Exter and i20 filling out the rest of the passenger vehicle book. The result puts Hyundai comfortably into the second quarter of FY27 and keeps it locked in second place behind Maruti Suzuki in the Indian passenger vehicle market, ahead of Tata Motors and Mahindra.

The Car Jury verdict

The headline number flatters Hyundai, but read it carefully. June 2026 was a production-constrained month at 39,635 units, so the 36.77% month-on-month jump is a bounce off a low base, not organic momentum. The year-on-year 23% is the real signal, and it is being carried by the Creta, Venue and a healthier export book.

Biturbo Media's Ashish Masih put it plainly, noting that Hyundai's cars simply sell in large numbers here. The product mix backs that up. Our Venue review remains a BUY, and the Creta Electric is the pick if you want a Hyundai badge on an EV. The petrol Creta still gets a WAIT from us; facelift chatter is real and Maruti's Grand Vitara plus Tata's Curve EV are chipping at the edges. Buy the Venue now, wait on the Creta.
