Kia Confirms Sorento Name For India With Sorrento Teaser
Kia India has posted a fresh teaser showing Sorrento, Italy, prompting followers to google the city and connect the dots. The image confirms that the brand's upcoming three-row hybrid SUV will keep its global Sorento nameplate for India, following multiple test mule sightings and unofficial bookings at select dealerships.

Kia India's official social channels published a photograph of a coastal Italian town with the caption asking followers to identify the city and guess what is coming next. The location is Sorrento in Italy's Campania region, a direct phonetic pointer to the Sorento nameplate that Kia sells globally as its three-row SUV.
The teaser lands after multiple public test-mule sightings of the Sorento on Indian roads over the past few months. Select Kia dealers have also begun accepting unofficial bookings, indicating that the launch timeline is close enough for the network to start locking in early customers. Kia India has not yet confirmed an official reveal date, variant lineup, or price band.
Globally, the current-generation Sorento is offered with a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid and a 1.6-litre plug-in hybrid, alongside a 2.2-litre diesel in select markets. Kia India recently launched the Syros compact EV, and the Sorento is understood to be the next major product rollout for the brand in the country. It will sit above the Carens MPV in Kia's Indian portfolio and target the three-row premium SUV space where the Toyota Innova Hycross currently operates largely unchallenged on the hybrid front. The India-spec powertrain, local assembly plans, and feature list remain unconfirmed by Kia at this stage.
