Kia Syros EV Bookings Open: 526 km Range, Two Battery Packs, Seven Variants
Kia India has opened bookings for the Syros EV, its second mass-market electric SUV, at an introductory token of Rs 25,000. The locally built model comes in seven variants with two battery packs, a 42 kWh unit rated at 404 km and a larger 51.4 kWh pack claiming up to 526 km.
What was announced
Kia India opened bookings for the Syros EV on 15 July 2026 with an introductory token of Rs 25,000. The SUV is manufactured locally and will be sold in seven variants across two battery pack options. Prices have not yet been announced; only booking amounts and battery/range details are on the table at this stage.
Two battery packs and a 526 km headline number put the Syros EV directly in the crosshairs of the Nexon EV and MG Windsor.
The powertrain lineup is built around two lithium-ion packs, with the top pack claiming a headline 526 km ARAI range. Fast charging is supported up to 100 kW, and the Syros EV gets a camera-based Level 2 ADAS suite, connected car tech and a dual-screen dashboard consistent with the ICE Syros already on sale.

The Car Jury verdict
The Syros EV lands in the most contested EV segment India has right now, and Kia has done the sensible thing: two battery packs, seven variants, and a real 500-plus km number on the bigger pack to neutralise range anxiety. The 42 kWh entry pack is the interesting one, because that is where the Nexon EV and Windsor fight is won or lost on price.
Faisal Khan of FasBeam notes the Syros "finally gets Level 2 ADAS, but it is a camera-based system," which is exactly the caveat buyers should file away before paying for the top trim. Our stance: worth the Rs 25,000 booking if you want the long-range 51.4 kWh variant, but wait for on-road pricing before committing. Kia buyers cross-shopping the Seltos and Sonet now finally have an electric option in-house.
