Tata Motors has announced a price hike of up to 1.5 percent across its ICE and EV range from July 1, 2026. The carmaker says the move partially offsets rising input costs and inflationary pressure. The increase will vary by model and variant, and could climb as high as Rs 43,485 on certain cars.

What was announced

Tata Motors will increase prices across its passenger vehicle portfolio, covering both ICE and EV models, with effect from July 1, 2026. In its statement, the company said the hike will "partially offset the impact of rising input costs and sustained inflationary pressures", and that it continues to absorb a significant portion of these costs. The extent of the increase will vary across models and variants, with the maximum hike going up to 1.5 percent, or roughly Rs 43,485 on the priciest variants.

Sub-2 percent does not break the Harrier EV or Curvv EV case, but it is not a reason to panic-buy a Tiago either.

This is the second ICE price increase Tata has implemented in 2026, following a 0.5 percent hike in April. The EV range is also being included in this round. Model-specific revised prices have not yet been disclosed. Tata's current 14-model lineup ranges from the Tiago at Rs 4.70 lakh to the Safari at Rs 26.40 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Car Jury verdict

This is Tata's second ICE hike in 2026, following a 0.5 percent bump in April, and the EV range is being dragged along this time too. That matters because the Harrier EV and Curvv EV are two of the strongest electric buys in the market right now, and a sub-2 percent increase does not change that math. If you have already shortlisted a Harrier EV or Curvv EV, close the deal before June 30.

For ICE buyers, the calculus is different. The Nexon and Punch still face sharper rivals, and the upcoming Sierra, which Faisal Khan of FasBeam pegs at Rs 13.58 lakh on-road Mumbai, will reshuffle Tata's own lineup. Cross-shopping a Hyundai Creta stays valid. Do not panic-buy a Tiago or Altroz over Rs 10,000.
