Kia India Posts Best-Ever July 2026 With 28,200 Units, Up 27%
Kia India dispatched 28,200 units in July 2026, a 27.4% year-on-year jump over the 22,135 units it moved in July 2025, and its highest-ever July tally since the brand entered India in 2019. Volumes also grew 14.86% month-on-month over June 2026's 24,552 units.

Kia India has reported wholesale dispatches of 28,200 units in July 2026, a 27.4% year-on-year increase over the 22,135 units it sold in July 2025. The company calls this its highest-ever July performance since it began operations in India in 2019. Sequentially, volumes rose 14.86% over June 2026's 24,552 units, indicating that the momentum is not just a base-effect story.
Seltos and Sonet are still doing the heavy lifting for Kia India, and the 1.5 NA petrol is the reason the volume math works.
Year-to-date, Kia has now sold 1,91,949 vehicles in the January to July 2026 window, up 16.85% over the 1,64,274 units it dispatched in the same period of 2025. That puts the brand comfortably on track to beat its 2025 full-year run rate if the second half holds.
On the model mix, Kia says demand was led by the Seltos mid-size SUV and the Sonet compact SUV, which continue as the volume backbone. The Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV maintained what the company describes as healthy demand in the three-row MPV space. Kia also flagged an encouraging early market response to the newly launched Syros EV, without disclosing a specific split of the number by model or by powertrain. Fleet versus private retail breakup was not shared either, so the retail health under these wholesale figures will only be visible once VAHAN registration data for July is fully reconciled.
The Car Jury verdict
The mix behind this number matters more than the number itself. Seltos and Sonet are still doing the heavy lifting, and that lines up with what creators keep flagging about this segment. Gagan Choudhary notes that "cars like the Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, and their sibling models, along with rivals like the Elevate, have shown that the 1.5 NA Petrol is clearly the most in-demand engine," and Kia's volume trims sit exactly there.
Our stance on the range is unchanged. The Seltos and Sonet remain BUYs on merit, not momentum. The Carens stays a WAIT until the Clavis settles on the road. Syros EV is the one to watch; Kia is pushing it hard, but buyers should let the first six months of ownership feedback land before signing.
